Contest Overview
The Haiti Robotics Championship is a national robotics competition designed to bring together students, robotics enthusiasts, researchers, makers, and emerging engineers from across Haiti.
The championship challenges participating teams to apply science, technology, engineering, mathematics, programming, electronics, and mechanical design to the development of functional robotic solutions.
Rather than focusing only on the final robot, the competition emphasizes the complete engineering process. Teams progress from understanding the challenge and conducting research to developing concepts, designing systems, building prototypes, testing their solutions, improving their designs, documenting their work, and presenting a final robotic system.
Each edition of the Haiti Robotics Championship may introduce a new theme, engineering problem, mission, or technical challenge while maintaining the same core competition model.
The championship aims to strengthen Haiti's robotics ecosystem by creating an environment where participants can learn, experiment, collaborate, innovate, and demonstrate their technical abilities.
Objectives
- Develop Robotics SkillsProvide participants with practical experience in designing, programming, building, testing, and operating robotic systems.Promote Engineering EducationEncourage participants to apply mathematics, physics, programming, electronics, mechanics, and engineering principles to real-world challenges.Encourage InnovationCreate opportunities for participants to develop original technological ideas and transform those ideas into functional prototypes.Strengthen Problem-Solving SkillsChallenge teams to analyze complex problems, develop possible solutions, test their assumptions, and improve their designs through experimentation.Develop TeamworkTeach participants how to collaborate within multidisciplinary engineering teams and distribute technical and organizational responsibilities effectively.Promote the Engineering Design ProcessEncourage participants to follow a structured process from problem identification and research through design, prototyping, testing, iteration, and final implementation.Develop Technical CommunicationImprove participants' ability to document engineering work and communicate technical concepts through reports, presentations, diagrams, demonstrations, and project documentation.Build Haiti's Robotics CommunityConnect students, educators, engineers, researchers, organizations, schools, universities, makers, and technology enthusiasts through a national robotics competition.Identify Emerging TalentProvide a platform where talented participants can demonstrate their technical abilities, creativity, leadership, and potential in robotics and engineering.Encourage Technology for HaitiInspire participants to consider how robotics, automation, and engineering can contribute to solving challenges and creating opportunities within Haitian society.
