Here, members have the chance to vote for the next leaders who will guide our club forward, foster collaboration, and shape the future of robotics in our community. Below, you’ll find details about each leadership role, our key election question for candidates, and how you can participate in this exciting process.


Election Question for All Candidates

To help us understand each candidate’s vision, we ask them to address this key question:

“As a candidate for this position, how do you plan to use your role to strengthen our Global Robotics Club, support our mission, and foster collaboration and innovation among members? Describe specific actions you would take to contribute to the growth and success of the club.”


Leadership Positions

Below are the positions open for election, along with brief descriptions of each role. Learn more about the specific responsibilities of each position.


1. President

As the club’s primary leader, the President is responsible for overseeing all operations, setting club goals, and ensuring our vision aligns with our mission. They lead meetings, support the executive team, and are the main liaison with the board of directors.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Lead club meetings and direct discussions.
    • Oversee all club activities and guide other officers.
    • Act as the primary contact with the board of directors.

2. Vice President

The Vice President assists the President in managing club operations and takes on leadership duties when the President is unavailable. This role involves collaborating across teams and providing essential support to all projects.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Support the President and lead meetings in their absence.
    • Help execute events and initiatives.
    • Oversee specific projects and tasks as assigned.

3. Secretary

The Secretary manages club communications and records all meeting minutes. They keep the team organized by maintaining key documents and keeping members informed on club activities.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Document meeting minutes and distribute them to members.
    • Organize club records and official documentation.
    • Coordinate internal communications.

4. Treasurer

The Treasurer handles the club’s finances, from budgeting to fundraising. This role is crucial for ensuring that the club has the resources to achieve its goals while maintaining transparency in all financial matters.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Prepare and maintain the club’s budget.
    • Track income and expenses, ensuring financial accuracy.
    • Lead fundraising efforts and manage sponsorships.

5. Education Coordinator

The Education Coordinator organizes all educational activities, including courses, workshops, and training sessions. They ensure all members have access to valuable learning experiences that boost their robotics skills.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Plan and organize robotics courses and workshops.
    • Coordinate guest lectures and training sessions.
    • Develop and refine educational programs for all skill levels.

6. Shop Manager

The Shop Manager oversees the robotics shop, maintaining inventory, equipment, and safety protocols. This role ensures that members have the tools and materials they need to create and innovate safely.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Manage equipment, inventory, and tool maintenance.
    • Ensure safety standards are followed in the shop.
    • Train members on equipment usage and safety procedures.

7. Challenge Coordinator

The Challenge Coordinator plans robotics competitions, trivia nights, hackathons, and other engaging activities. This role fosters a fun and competitive atmosphere, encouraging members to challenge themselves and each other.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Organize competitions, quizzes, and hackathons.
    • Set rules, guidelines, and scoring systems for events.
    • Encourage teamwork and member engagement.

8. Marketing and Outreach Officer

The Marketing and Outreach Officer promotes the club, recruits new members, and manages social media channels. They’re responsible for making the club visible and highlighting its achievements.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Manage social media platforms and create content.
    • Develop promotional materials and outreach initiatives.
    • Build partnerships with sponsors and the media.

9. Event Coordinator

The Event Coordinator handles the logistics for all club events, including meetings, guest speaker sessions, and field trips. They ensure events run smoothly from start to finish.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate event logistics, including venue setup and scheduling.
    • Work with guest speakers and special guests.
    • Support other officers in executing club-wide events.

10. Community Engagement Liaison

The Community Engagement Liaison strengthens relationships with other robotics clubs, schools, and community organizations. They create opportunities for collaboration and establish the club’s presence in the community.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Build partnerships with clubs and educational institutions.
    • Organize joint events and collaborations.
    • Represent the club at community events and conferences.

11. Technology Officer

The Technology Officer manages the club’s website, digital platforms, and technical infrastructure. This role ensures the club’s online presence runs smoothly and securely.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Update and manage the club’s website and platforms.
    • Oversee technical infrastructure and online tools.
    • Ensure data security and manage digital resources.

12. Safety Officer

The Safety Officer enforces safety protocols during all club activities. They maintain a secure environment for all members, especially during hands-on projects and events.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Develop and enforce safety guidelines.
    • Conduct safety inspections for club spaces and equipment.
    • Train members on safety procedures and emergency protocols.

How to Participate in the Election

For Candidates
If you’re interested in running for a position, follow these steps:

  1. Submit Your Nomination: Fill out the Nomination Form with your personal information, the role you’re applying for, and your response to the election question.
  2. Prepare a Campaign Statement: In 300 words or less, explain why you’re the best fit for the role and how you’ll contribute to the club’s mission. This will be posted alongside your name for members to view.
  3. Attend the Candidate Q&A: Join our upcoming Candidate Q&A session where members can ask questions and get to know you better.

For Voters
All members are eligible to vote. Here’s how:

  1. Review Candidate Statements: Browse the candidate profiles and statements on our Candidate Page.
  2. Attend the Q&A Session: Meet the candidates and learn more about their visions for the club.
  3. Cast Your Vote: On Election Day, log in to your member account and cast your vote for each position.

  • Candidate Q&A Session: November 16, 2024 13:00 pm
  • Voting Opens: November 17, 2024 12:00 am
  • Voting Closes: November 17, 2024 11:59 pm
  • Results Announced: November 16, 2024.
